SKIPTON GUERNSEY LIMITED CELEBRATES A DOUBLE THIS YEAR AT FLORAL GUERNSEY!

For Skipton Guernsey Limited (SGL), sponsorship of Floral Guernsey 2005 will mark a double celebration. While SGL is celebrating its 10 th continuous year as major sponsor of the Floral Guernsey Show, the company is also celebrating its 10 th anniversary this year as a local Guernsey business.

Alan Bougourd, Managing Director, SGL commented, “When we first started supporting the Floral Guernsey Show in 1996, we were both just starting out with ambitions to become an integral part of island life. Now, 10 shows on, the words Floral Guernsey and Skipton Guernsey have become synonymous with contributing something positive to the community. This year, to mark the tenth anniversary of our operation in Guernsey we shall be out in force at the Show with a stand in the Skipton Pavilion, where we hope to meet old friends and make new ones.”

This year’s Show builds on the success of its move to a new venue and looks set to be even more spectacular than last year. Saumarez Park will again provide the backdrop for the three day event, running from Thursday 9 until Saturday 11 June inclusive.

John Burley, Chairman of Floral Guernsey Council, stressed the importance of support for events such as the Show by the commercial sector, saying, “Without the backing of companies such as Skipton Guernsey, who are keen to put something back in to the community, these splendid local occasions just could not happen.”

The Skipton Pavilion will form the centrepiece of the floral park with four show gardens displayed around its perimeter, while inside the Skipton Guernsey stand will be flanked by the Floral Guernsey garden and information area.
